Pomp & Circumstance

I’m back from vacation, and the dog days of summer are really starting to get to me. Without a car, Bethany and I are stuck in the house all day long. But, the temperature has also been in the triple digits since I’ve been back, so even if I could go somewhere, I probably would not venture out in 105+ degree heat with the baby.

Fortunately, this has given me plenty of time to get back into roleplay in Marvel. The space roleplay has ended, and resulted in a long-term room status change. Apparently, it was just the beginning for a 5-year long roleplay. I’m excited to see how (and if) it pans out in the room.

I have also been devoting some of my precious little free time to redesigning Marvel’s entrance page and msgboard. It’s not finished yet, but I am liking it so far. It’s drastically different than what we have now – but NC likes it, and I gave CyberGhost a sneak peek and she seemed to like it too. Stay tuned for the grand unveiling!

I also have an idea for a new room. It’s nothing original – it’s bastardized from a book series that Li got me hooked on. The series (for teens) is called Percy Jackson and the Olympians and there are five books. It’s all about Greek mythology being real and present in the modern world. It’s very similar to Harry Potter, though not nearly as good and in-depth as, in my opinion.

The room would, of course, be based off the series. But to be different, all character would have to be original characters, and there wouldn’t be any character sheets or registration.

The room would also exist solely on the Private Property whochat. Although anyone is welcome, of course, it’s basically a room for Li and I to go and play around in. It doesn’t need to be “successful” or “popular” or anything. And we’d just be able to do whatever we wanted.

But, of course, the more the merrier – so if you’re interested in modern-day Greek mythology, check out the books, and then come roleplay (when it opens, of course).

I’ve been rather “blah” about Marvel lately.  I think it has to do with several things, such as a lack of time to be on for any length of time, a lack of things to do when I am on, and a lack of people to do them with.   I’ve attempted to branch out and try some new things, but that didn’t work so well.  I think I have to be different than 99.9% of the roleplayers I know.  Nearly everyone I know has a character in this room, three characters in that room, a character in this other room, two characters in yet another room, and so on.  People enjoy making new characters, roleplaying in new settings, etc.  But not me.  As I was remarking to someone the other day, I honestly would be perfectly happy playing just Dazzler, just in Marvel, all the time (I say this, yet I began this post with “I’ve been sort of ‘blah’ about Marvel lately.”   Seems contradictory, doesn’t it?). 

But once again, NC steps up to save the day!  He has concocted this awesome storyline for the room, involving one of my favorite settings to take Dazzler to:  SPACE!   Alison is just so completely out of her element in space that it is always amusing to see how she reacts to certain things.   Oh, and I guess Wasp will be there too, but she’s no fun! *L*  I even get to be in charge of the small, funny side storylines that our heroes will get into while they’re traversing the final frontier.  So be prepared for alot of “Firefly” rip-offs.  *lol* 

And, I have one more week of school left… so I am hoping that things will calm down around here enough then that I can spend more time in Marvel.

It’s about time we got these blogs up and working again. I’ve been waiting for them since the site opened! Now if I only had something interesting to post…
